Our mission is to end companion animal homelessness.
We want to do this by providing safe haven, quality medical care and compassion to the animals entrusred to out care and place them in loving, permanent homes.

We are committed to being a leader in community spay and neuter programs, promoting humane values, and publicawareness regarding responsible pet care and fighting animal cruelty.

NOTE :                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          We'd like to put an end to some nasty rumors. We had a very bad experience last year, when we took on two unreliable volunteers. Both turned out to be addicts and as a result, some equipment and money were stolen. In addition to this, the very week they were let go, one of them ran over and killed Kathy Lewis' personal pet. Both of these people are long gone and we are very lucky to have excellent volunteers who truly love the animals. We have had no paid employee's Since April of 2009. OK, that takes care of rumor #1. We have been accused of "supporting puppy mills". Nothing could be further from the truth. We have just recently helped a puppy breeder who was extremely overwhelmed with way too many animals downsize to 0 dogs. This took us just over a year to do. What's more, if there are ANY other puppy breeders or puppy mills who are interested in downsizing by giving us their animals (we do NOT pay for animals) we will be happy to help them downsize also. Whether they want to give up all or just part of their animals, we will be happy to take them and find them permanent, loving homes, in addition to providing whatever medical care they may need. Isn't that what all of us are about? Finding unfortunate pets homes instead of having them living indefinitely in puppy shops, animal control shelters, puppy breeders, puppy mills etc? We still take animals from kill facilities but we also would rather see an animal humanely euthanized than living in filthy conditions, or being "warehoused" in small quarters for the rest of their lives. This is our opinion. We understand and respect your right to have a different opinion. We also would never dream of interfering with a shelter whose policies are different than ours because we feel that AS LONG AS WE ARE ALL SAVING ANIMALS WE ARE DOING GOOD WORK!!!
